I`m no photographer, so what should I do with such extensive programs with overloaded functions I never would use my whole life? So for my minimal efforts in photo work irfanView is adequate and useful ... and it`s free!

I have found that Photoshop CS2 works perfect for me. I do use Gimp for more simple things but all of my web design happens in CS2.

I use Gimp on my Linux machine, but any serious work is done want an older version of Photoshop Elements I bought on Ebay for $20, a smart investment that has rewarded me for many years and counting. Free is NOT always the best price.
