I think dropshipping is a dead horse for now when many companies are offering stable 30%-40% commission on sale providing guaranteed non-competing sale policy, something like FLP . I like that company specifically because we don't need to buy, we just re-direct retail customers to the corporate web site under our distributor number. Much easy to make decent profit.
Dropshipping is a viable business model if you can find a wholesale dropshipper that offers a decent wholesale/retail percentage. Also, if you can find a wholesaler who is not competing with you retail and the shipping costs are not exorbitant.
Dropshipping is a great way to earn money from little work. IF you have the ability to put products in front of potential customers it works well. ie Many Ebay products are simply dropshipped, although the profit isn't usually as good, if you can sell a lot then it is worth it.
Yes, I am definitely interested in exploring this opportunity further. If possible, please add me as a contact and we can discuss it further. Thanks very much
As noted by some members above, dropshipping was big before the internet arrived. Some old-timers are still doing it full-time and the internet has made it easier for them to communicate with their business partners.
I personally prefer to deal with info-products, membership sites and the like.
The idea intrigues me but I don't have any experience with it. I think the internet has made it more profitable than pre-internet, but that's just my opinion.
I used to do drop shipping many years ago before the Internet existed. It worked for a short while, but the profit margin wasn't good enough to justify expensive advertising, I don't think much has changed now either. I believe I am far better off with Affiliates programs.
