@Mike I always look at their Subject lines TOO. How will we know what is SPAM if we don't read some of it?... Not saying to act on it. But it is indeed good information that your able to use.. Both Good stuff and Bad stuff....
I'm with Cindy, I have to keep an eye out on others but I go one step further and utilize the spam I get to my benefit. It helps me with topics I need to write or use them as a poor example.
Many times the great copy comes from some of the most successful spammers. I have taken the spammers copy rewrote it just enough to fit my needs blasted their bad product and promoted a solid product. I used their sweat (research) to find the customer and profited from it. I do not fill them out. If a contact sends me something to look at and it is a capture page I tell them to give me a link to go to it or I won't look. Sometimes I use capture pages but I know it is only for new people and that is what I am looking for when I use them. But I don't put them on a list to spam them.
I Like to see what others are doing... I am on many lists.... about every couple of months I go through an unsubscribe to those that I have gotten no value from.
I thought Capture Pages were old hat now. We all Know now it is a ploy to add the signatory to an email list where they will be dunned for the rest of their lives with unwanted offers. I am with you Warren on this one. Absolutely. P.S. deleting spam is like throwing meat to a lion, the spammers then know the email link is alive and well and they can sell it. Now get ready to really get spammed.
So if you use throwaway emails or unsubscribe right away, what's the POINT? Why not just give away the information with no strings attached and make it good enough they will WANT to get on your list?
Yes, sometimes, depending on if they have a video or other information that really attracts my interest. If if don't find the offer useful after I receive it I'll just unsubscribe. Seems like that's currently the way most marketers get their leads.

Yes I fill them out. It's a great way to learn what other marketers are doing in their business to get leads and make sales

I have no problem filling them out if the product is interesting, I generally use throwaway emails that I can delete if I get spammed.
