Are self help books a falacy?

The self-help books that were the most useful to me are Paul Mc Kenna s books...i used to rewire my brain positively...one key to achieve beautiful things in life is permanent positive thinking:)

Most forms of self help if its now with books, online or any other form. I think you Always benefit from them. Even if your not completely focused on it, your subconscious mind Always picks up something. But in the end, it is up to each one of us to take action. Without action or change you will never improve alot. Its alot about changing your habits. Step by step improve your daily habits. I have a blog about mindfulness and one of the most important things I discovered is to have a life coach

Self help books are not falacy. It is our commitment to keep on working with what is stated in these books that lacks.

In the [past few moths I have narrating many of the Classic's and making them available, since so many people feel the need to LISTEN while doing other things?
Also edited 120 hours of our Talk Show to a 40 hour listen HOW regular people, today, have been positively impacted by Think and Grow Rich,. Also include a 35 page esssay style work book.
Been helpful to many hundreds of people.

I am currently reading - Success Principles from Jack Canfield and I am really enjoying it.
It is opening my eyes to the power that each of us posses to change our lives.

Also recently read "Born Rich" from Bob Proctor and it is very insightful as well.

My question was actually something that came about after discussing with someone the problem that so few people read anything these days, even less so motivational and teaching material. Warren, your note reminded me of having done exactly the same and I can still recall stuff I heard on the cassette player in my car....

In flying, we have a saying, "A Good Pilot Is Always Learning." Sure self help books help just as self help courses help. I still use my "Dale Carnagie" (sp) to this day. Especially when I use the portion to remember names of people I meet.

I spent 25 years running my own computer business where I was the only sales person covering the entire Northwest states. I drove 50,000 miles a year and spent hours in my rolling university listening to Zig Zigler, Hank Trisler, Earl Nightengale, Tony Robbins and a host of others on tapes. They ABSOLUTELY helped my business and still do today 40 years later. I would have never learned to survive without that education.

The book does nothing more than introduce Ideas that must be PUT INTO ACTION.
I read three books in 1960 as a college freshman they were so clear and easy to comprehend, I immediately applying the plans and started my business.
They are read constantly over the years, have narrated them and shared with thousands.
The books did NOT help me, I helped myself, they just provided the guidelines

Thanks Joe. I have found excellent ideas in these different books and would believe that self help books are just like the Bible and everyone interpets them differently. What do you do for a living?

Most self help books are just good old common sense. Do they help? I believe so. Have they helped me. I know so. If use properly they will give you info that you may not have thought about your self.
