If you are one of the many considering the Xiaomi Mi5 VS OnePlus 3, we already know that you are in a quest for a budget phone with maximum features. While the Xiaomi Mi5 has been a great seller over the past few months, the OnePlus 3 is still not released – but has its specs confirmed.

Xiaomi Mi5 VS OnePlus 3

With the specs, price and other things on paper, we can definitely do a mid-range smartphone review comparing both of the phones.

When it comes to weight, both of the phones weigh around 160 grams, and have similar dimensions as well. While the OnePlus 3 is rumored to be packed with a dual-SIM slot, the Xiaomi Mi5 already has a Dual SIM. They are both with Gorilla Glass 4 protection and operate on Android’s newest OS, the Marshmallow.

There are more identical features to the table. Both the Xiaomi Mi5 and the OnePlus 3 have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and a dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo and dual-core 1.8 GHz Kryo. Their GPU is Adreno 530 and there are no differences when it comes to the platform set.

The camera is identical in the both models, with 16 megapixel quality, autofocus and LED flash. The secondary camera supports 30 frames per second in the Xiaomi Mi5, which is the main difference in the lens.

One of the great things about the Xiaomi Mi5 is the fast charging feature that can charge the phone to 83% in just 30 minutes. This is especially handy nowadays, and the OnePlus 3 model does not support it. However, the battery is on the side of OnePlus, which has a 3000mAh battery which is non-removable. The Xiaomi Mi5  has a 3000 mAh battery.

Although there are not many features that are confirmed about the OnePlus 3, its main selling point is that it is a brand new model that will come at an affordable price of around $310 for the base model. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi5 outperforms it in a way with some of its handy features – but is more expensive, with a current price of around $390.

So, if your budget allows you, you should go for the Xiaomi Mi5 all-around model.
