Understanding Difference Between Fans and Industrial Blowers
Fans and blowers may sound similar to a layman as both are used for the circulation of air. But they are as different as chalk and cheese when their mechanical functioning is considered. The fan is an assembly of blades to an impeller shaft wherein an electric motor is connected to it to create the rotation for circulation of air throughout the entire room.
Blowers are centrifugal fans which circulate the air but it is radially blown outwards from the axis of the impeller shaft. A blower does consist of a fan but the air circulated here is targeted towards a specific location and not the entire area. The Industrial blowers suppliers provide the blowers which have a pressure ration of 1.1 or 1.2 and can handle larger volume of gas. Whereas, the fans, though , can handle larger volume of gas, have a lesser pressure ratio of less than 1.1.

Fans are used for air circulation in households. Blowers have an outer cover, outlet, and inlet. Both fans and blowers are used in industrial processes, industrial air conditioning units, wind tunnels, the basic difference being in the pressure ratio and the direction of air circulation.
