Understanding Bandsaw Machines and its Varieties
Bandsaw machine is a very useful tool which helps in the uniform cutting of materials. It can work on plastic, metal or wood with equal ease and perfection. Bandsaw machine manufacturers manufacture this versatile usage machine in many designs, to be used for different purposes. The designs are of two wheels, three wheels, four wheels, different sizes of blades, tooth pitch etc. Most of these machines have an electric motor to operate them. In most of the models, only one wheel is power driven.
Suppliers of bandsaw machine sell them under two broad specifications such as horizontal bandsaws and vertical bandsaws. The horizontal bandsaws have the material stationary and saw is moved across the length to make a straight cut. It is used to cut material lengthwise such as pipes, rods etc. It is mainly available in industrial models. Hydraulic cylinders are designed to control the speed of the cut and brushes to blow away the chips. If automatically fed, the special switch trips by stopping the machine when the cut is finished.
Vertical bandsaws, on the other hand, have the functioning style where the blade is stationary and the material is moved across. It is apt for cutting complex shapes. The mechanism of vertical bandsaws is either manual or power assisted. There is a built-in air blower for cooling and blowing the chips. As per the Bandsaw machine suppliers, they can also be categorized as portable bandsaws, head saws, resaws, and double cut saws, where the basic difference lies in the purpose of use, size, blade and tooth pitch.
