While selecting bridesmaids dresses in Sydney, it's basically the bride who is given the privilege to choose the colour & type of fabric because the bride is considered as the best person who knows best which style and kind of dress is going to compliment with her gown. So, if its your wedding and you want to go out for choosing your bridesmaid dresses, this one is for you.

But remember a few things while choosing other than the colour and type of fabric. Consideration must also be given to bridesmaids' personalities and styles, skin tones, figure types and their budget.

The internet is a great resource for finding the perfect bridesmaid dress design as well as the latest trends in the dresses. So, what you can do is take 1-2 of your bridesmaids out for shopping and see what kind of dresses they prefer. Then after narrowing down the bridesmaid dress designs, take your other bridesmaids out for making the final choice. This is going to be a wise approach and will take a lot less time in selecting the perfect bridesmaid dress.

After you have found the right bridesmaid dress, what is next?

The first thing that you need to do is have all your bridesmaids measured professionally. You would definitely not want the dress to fit loose or badly. In fact, this is the last thing that you may want-to deal with incorrect dress sizes. So, trying out each and every dress before placing the order is a good thing to do. By doing this, you can be sure that the right size has been chosen.

The styles in wedding fashion continuously change and dress designers constantly update their designs. It is thus recommended that you place the order of your bridesmaid dresses as soon as you think you've decided on the design and the colour you like in order to avoid the colour or style being discontinued.

It is even a great idea to order all the bridesmaid dresses at the same time. The fabric dye-lots may vary and so if you order dresses not at the same time, they can be from different dye-lots and may not be of the exact colour. When they are made and come in, hold them next to one another to see if the colours are same before leaving the shop.

With different designers having carious lead times, you may also want to have enough time in your hand for alterations if needed. Make sure there is at least three weeks prior to your wedding day so that the dress can be altered if any problem arises in the making. There must also be enough time for the second and third fitting if in case the dress doesn't fit quite properly. A lot of bridesmaids wait unless less than seven days before the special day for picking up their dress only to find that it hasn't fit them well and that there is not even enough time for alterations or return.
