Wear beach appropriate clothing

Everyone likes to chill by the beach. Don’t make their lives difficult by seeing you in underwear. There’s a difference between wearing an underwear and a swimwear. Learn more about it and invest in a swimwear when the waves hit you. Also, we recommend not wearing a sari or a lungi when at the beach. It’ll make you look nothing but plain dumb. Also, wearing heels or sports shoes should be avoided.   

Do not litter

Dressing up appropriately on the beaches is important and so is behaving. Respect the beauty of the place and make use of the bins. Beer bottles look great but not when they are abandoned on the beaches in the company of snack wrappers. In fact, they don’t look good anywhere whether near hotels near Goa airport or anywhere.

Resist clicking random people

One of the most touristy things that visitors do is photography. Who doesn’t like those extra likes on the Instagram posts with Goan sunsets or artsy Goan forts? But do not invade people’s privacy and resist clicking pictures of people you do not know. It is both offensive and illegal.

Staring

Goa is the ultimate chill destination and people love to let loose here. The same is reflected in their attire when they are sunbathing by the beaches or eating at restaurants in Goa. Do not stare at men and women wearing short clothes. It’s downright creepy and makes the concerned person very uncomfortable. They are in Goa to enjoy too so, respect them.

The D-word

If your intention is to indulge in drugs, then Goa is not the right place for you. More often than not people have been looted and arrested while they were on the lookout for procuring drugs. You are going to be approached by a lot of people who’ll give you invitations to ‘happening’ parties and great ‘stuff’. Stay away from them and protect yourself and your pockets.

Don’t be a superhero

Don’t get crazy seeing the sea. Keep your adrenaline in check and resist going too deep into the sea. And if you are, ensure that you can see the lifeguards. The same applies when you are doing water and adventure sports. Act on the guidelines and keep yourself safe from any mishaps.

We all love indulging ourselves in booze and especially when the booze is as cheap as it is in Goa. But doing things after you get wasted shouldn’t be those you’ll be ashamed of later. So, don’t end up looking dumb and follow the above-stated suggestions.
