Swiss World Cargo faced the revenue drop during the last year due to the Swiss National Bank’s decision to remove a Swiss franc currency ceiling based on the value of the euro. Swiss National Bank’s decision caused the franc’s value to fall and as Swiss WorldCargo producing 80 percent of revenues in foreign currency, the Swiss cargo division’s revenues took a hit. Over capacity is another reason for the drop in term of revenues.

The average load factors of the airline also dropped, falling by two points to 76.8 percent. The lower load factor was brought about by yields falling to such a degree, to the point that Swiss WorldCargo chose to dismiss certain business which became nonprofitable. According to Ashwin Bhat this year the air cargo market has been flat, although he also said that it’s not going down at any rate.
