Self Confidence: International Model, ‘Vesna Vrankovic’ Unbridles the True Essence of beauty
Beauty surrounds us everywhere. However, there is something we should comprehend about the magnificence of beauty: It truly does resonate from within.
Today, we see individuals
attempting to improve their looks; shallow beauty is heavily emphasized, and in
the end, the one thing that people struggle with is —self-acceptance.
Serbian/Australian model, Vesna
Vrankovic, who has been prominent in the international modeling scene for over
two decades, lending her face to top-notch beauty brands, including Tom Ford
beauty, Mac Cosmetics and Estée Lauder. Now one incredible mum, who perfectly
balances work and motherhood, Vesna, comes forward to reveal that beauty is so much
more than external appearance.
Vrankovic emphasizes that women
must not compare themselves with any other individual on the grounds that
there's just a single you. "In present society, there is a lot of pressure
to conform to unrealistic ideals. Along with ads in magazines, Social media has
done its fair share in promoting unrealistic beauty standards and lifestyles.
The scary part is how this will impact our children, who are growing up with
such unrealistic and false representations of how they are meant to look or
live. The long-term effects on their self-esteem are yet to be seen, although
from what we know now today, increasing numbers of young adults suffer from
depression and low self-esteem, and anxiety. Whilst this can’t be contributed
entirely to external forces such as the media or social media platforms, they
are definitely a significant contributing factor," she says.
Vrankovic explains that in recent
years, social media has had a significant negative influence on our self-worth.
"I am no stranger to comparing myself to others, particularly in my
younger years. The older I get, the more I see the futility of this, and I made
a choice to stop engaging in such self-deprecating practice," she says.
"I have not said that
endeavoring to be the best version of yourself is awful. In fact, I am an
advocate of taking care of your inner and outer beauty... However, pose
yourself one question, what is the purpose of being "perfect" on the
outside when you are wrecked inside," she says.
Attainable beauty is embracing
self-confidence and understanding that each person has an equal share of flaws,
making them unique. The only competition you have is your own self; nothing
feels on par with beating the past version of yourself and advancing to the
next level as a better human being.
