When you come across an advertisement of a new condo launch in Singapore, we’re sure you can’t help but wonder what makes this particular property different than the others? Singapore condos pretty much have the same standards and amenities across all properties, and the choice of where to get a condo unit solely depends now on the priorities of the person. Here are some of the best locations to get a condominium, whether you want to be in the city centre or somewhere more tranquil.

1.       River Valley

The prestigious district of River Valley is located in the heart of the city, with just the perfect balance of commercial developments and tranquil surroundings. Abounding the River Valley Road are a string of quaint stores, eateries, restaurants, and coffee shops which residents living close by can enjoy every day. It only takes roughly about 10 minutes to Raffles Place which is the most ideal living setup for young urbanites who work around the central business district. Also, world-class shopping is just a stone’s throw away, as the shopping belt in Orchard Road is only a 5-minute drive. Living in the community of River Valley, expect that commute time is cut shorter with an array of lifestyle establishments around it that are sure to make city living more pleasurable and convenient.

In case you don’t want to join the commotion at Orchard, River Valley is also close to other shopping establishments such as the Valley Point Shopping Mall and Great World City Shopping Centre. The Zion Road food centre is also close by, adding to the variety of choices for the avid foodie. There are many public transportation options to choose from, with Tiong Bahru (East-West Line) as the nearest MRT station, making all important city stops such as Raffles Place and Changi Airport very accessible. Several schools are also in the proximity, such as Crescent Girls’ School, Overseas Family School, and ISS International School, making quality education even more accessible for families who decide to live in the heart of the city.

2.       East Coast

A new condo launch in Singapore is most exciting when you hear that it will be situated near the ocean! If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and go home to a serene place that feels like a vacation every day, then living in the East Coast would be perfect for you. Situated just about 5 minutes from the Changi Airport, the East Coast offers a serene environment near the ocean. Though far away from the city, some dedicated shuttles and many forms of public transportation are widely available to take residents around town.

Some condo developments offer unobstructed, panoramic views of the ocean, as well as waterfront river views. Most developments focus on having a “marine” theme, building various kinds of swimming pools and promoting all sorts of water activities, perfect for the whole family. The coastal areas allow residents to enjoy activities such as fishing, roller-blading, and jogging, and offers more choices for fresh seafood from the East Coast Beach Seafood Centres nearby.

3.       Woodlands

If you want to invest in a property in an up and coming neighbourhood, your best bet will be going further up north to Woodlands. With many approaching developments including a general hospital, MRT lines, and more commercial establishments, there’s no need to worry about being too far away from the city centre. Being a new development means prices are still working their way up, so there’s no better time than now to secure a large space for a fraction of the price than its city counterparts.

The residential area at Woodlands is nearby Admiralty and Woodlands South MRT stations. Parents don’t need to look far in looking for the best schools near their homes, this district is home to many of the best education centres in the country. There are about 21 schools in the area ranging from primary schools to colleges, making it an ideal place to raise a family. Parents will have peace of mind knowing that their children only travel a short distance, as opposed to sending their kids to study in another town. Nearby shopping establishments are Causeway Point, Vista Point, and 888 Plaza, which are all less than a kilometre away. A future business cluster is also in the works, so residents could expect more job opportunities in the next years to come.

4.       Punggol

This fishing village has undergone a major transformation and is now a rising town, with numerous developments and activities currently taking place for the residents. The New Waterfront Punggol Town makes this area even more exciting to live in, with many upcoming projects such as a future mega mall (The Waterway Mall), waterfront promenades, and many other condominium developments, integrated with shopping and entertainment amenities. It is located near Punggol MRT and LRT stations, and has 3 shopping malls nearby, all within a radius of less than 2 kilometres. The Tampines Expressway connects this town to the city centre, with travel time approximately 25 minutes. Punggol is expected to be a very innovative and vibrant neighbourhood, ideal for young, growing families who want to take advantage of luxurious waterfront living at a reasonable price!

New condo launches in Singapore are really exciting, signifying the advancements and integration of residential, commercial, and economic zones, significantly improving lives of all residents, whichever part of the country they may be.
