If we do a quick review of the organic and inorganic properties of pigments, then we could summarize that we usually use nicknames, such as, Modern or organic pigments and Mineral or inorganic pigments. The broad simplification is that Mineral pigments, also known as inorganic are normally mined from the earth like, the ochres, siennas and umbers. These pigments were increased at the launch of the manufacturing age with the arrival of industrially produced blended metal colors, like, zinc, cadmiums and cobalts and a wide variety of fabricated oxide pigments. These pigments are classically more opaque and while mixed together, defer a lower chroma mixture.

The Modern or organic pigments, also known as Hansas, Phthalos and Quinacridrones are more translucent, have higher chroma and most significantly, whilst blended together create incredibly clean mixtures. This is perhaps the greatest difference between this classical set and the Modern Theory Color Mixing Set. Though a variety of Cadmiums in the reds, oranges and yellows would get an exceedingly intense and dazzling opaque color, they are inclined to blend towards much more muted tones and continual mixing with these colors is liable to go towards mud very swiftly. 1 A classical set, whilst muted in its range and reach, lets an artist to combine a wheel of colors usually found in nature.

The option of all modern Orange Organic Pigments lets one create a wide variety of colors which fill a much broader region of color space. This set offers one of the most absolute resources to commence to understand the individuality of pigments and their mixtures.
