As the name suggests, the Mobicam DXR Digital Monitoring System is a complete system that allows you to watch your baby even if you are NOT home! What this video baby monitor does, and what makes it stand out, is its ability, with the included software, to stream video and audio directly to your computer, Smartphone, or notepad via the Internet, meaning if you are a working parent you never have to miss a moment of your child (*Note, while the software is included, Mobi does charge money per month for the unlimited use of this service. If you want to skip this, you can stream 2 hours of video per month for free).

This feature is also important because it allows you to keep an extra eye on your child-care provider as well, giving you an extra tool to ensure your child is in the best care while you are away. Plus, you have the ability to record video on the Digital DXR by simply inserting an SD card (sold separately). You have the option of recording manually or automatically when a sound is detected. All the video is time and date stamped and plays easily from the unit, giving you another tool to see what is happening to your child throughout the day. Then you can archive the footage or share it on Facebook, Youtube, or via email. So not only does the Mobicam DXR help you never miss a moment, but it also helps you share those moments with your family.

The Mobicam DXR uses a secure, private digital signal, providing a range of up to 450 feet and it comes equipped with a night-vision function with a 40-foot range that automatically activates when the camera detects a sound. It also allows for up to 4 cameras, Easytobemom claims that's perfect if you have more than one child or want to keep a watchful eye on your child in more than one room.

The monitor can either scan between the 4 cameras or use the quad-view and see all 4 cameras simultaneously on the 3.5” LCD screen. But if that isn’t large enough for you, you can connect the monitor to your computer via a USB cord (included) to display the video on your computer.

Additional features include two-way audio communication, giving you the ability to talk to your child without having to enter their room and the Digital DXR comes with an eight-hour rechargeable battery, meaning you shouldn’t have to worry about losing power on the monitor. Plus the monitor has built-in alarms to warn you when the battery power is low, the camera is out of range, or a voice has been detected. You are never far away from your child with the Mobicam DXR.

Mobicam Baby Monitor User Reviews

Most parents using the Mobicam DXR are very pleased with it. In fact it received mostly 4 and 5-star ratings on Amazon. Everyone agreed that the picture quality surpasses the quality of most video baby monitors on the market, and some have found that the night-vision video to be the best. One parent was very happy with the viewing range provided by the camera – they were able to see their son’s entire bedroom, giving them a huge piece of mind.

Some common complaints with this monitor are the audio levels. Most parents would have found it is not loud enough, but this is only a problem if you are watching TV. and have the monitor with you. If it is by your bedside then you will have no problems hearing everything. One parent found it misleading that there is a monthly charge to stream video and it is not stated right away. That is understandable and to find that out after purchasing the monitor could be very frustrating. But if you are a working parent, than the $9.95 per month could be worth the peace of mind. It is up to you.

I have mixed feelings about this video baby monitor. The ability to add four cameras, the quality of the video in daytime and nighttime and the recording capabilities make this a very versatile monitor. However, the monthly charge required to stream more than 2 hours of video could be troublesome. That’s why I think the Mobicam DXR Digital Monitoring System is most suited for working parents or for families with a large number of kids in more than one bedroom.
