Krea University partners with Kauvery Hospitals for on-campus health care facilities

With health care and safety being the topmost priority during this pandemic, Krea University has taken a significant step towards addressing the concern of students, faculty and staff by entering into a partnership with Kauvery Hospitals, a reputed name in the health-care sector, to maintain and operate the health-centre and pharmacy at its campus. Kauvery has run a well-known and popular chain of multi-specialty hospitals engaged in provision of high-quality healthcare services in Tamil Nadu for nearly two decades

 

The Krea campus health centre, now managed by Kauvery Hospitals, will have a dedicated general practitioner and occupational health nurses on duty, with the doctor available over call 24x7, ensuring that all medical requests and emergencies, are dealt with swiftly. The health centre will also have a BLS ambulance with round-the-clock service availability and standard first-aid facilities. The on-site pharmacy will cater to the needs of campus residents with a well-stocked inventory. Apart from dedicated support on a case basis and follow ups, the health centre will also run routine check-ups and health promotion activities.

 

“The partnership with Kauvery Hospital makes the Krea University campus self-sufficient as far as health-care for students, faculty and staff members are concerned”, said Prof. Shobha Das, Dean of IFMR GSB. The students and members of the staff at Krea shall be entitled to treatment for any disease at any of the Kauvery Hospitals in Tamil Nadu, including treatment for COVID-19. The health centre will also monitor the observance of appropriate COVID management protocols and measures on campus.

 

The partnership also brings with it a bouquet of specialised health services, in line with the University’s focus on the Krea community’s well-being. It will also promote holistic health-care management by providing professional advice to the campus administration on the maintenance of buildings including kitchen areas, food and water testing, and dietary advice to students

 

Krea University currently houses two Schools and provides strategic oversight to three Research Centres. The School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences offers 3-year B.A. (Honours) & B.Sc. (Honours) degrees, with an option to do an additional year of Advanced Studies. The IFMR-Graduate School of Business offers PhD, MBA and customised Management Development Programmes. IFMR GSB has been offering MBA degree under the auspices of KREA University since 2017 with specializations in Data Science, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations and Strategic Management. The 40-acre campus of Krea University stands about 60 KM north of Chennai in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh and is equipped with state-of-the-art educational and recreational facilities.
