Aloe Vera is accepted as a medicinal plant, which is not good just for one, two or three indications but for a wide range of indications from burn to acne to allergies to asthma to constipation to diabetes to hair loss...well indications seem unending.


Aloe Vera is a short plant, which takes around four years to reach to its full growth. When fully grown, it’s fleshy green leaves, is about 12-18 inches in length. These leaves are full of a gel-like substance that contains numerous beneficial compounds. It can be used as drinking juice or applying topically.
Uses

You may think that how one plant could offer so many positive medical benefits. It would be a miracle then. But yes, it is a miracle. You will really get surprised to know the innumerable benefits it can provide to you.

Immune system: The antioxidants present in Aloe Vera juice stimulate the white blood cells of the body and thus enhance immune system to fight against several infections.

Constipation- Aloe Vera has strong laxative effects, making it useful to treat constipation. It is the latex, a sticky yellow deposit found just under the skin of the leaf that provides this benefit. The key compound responsible for this effect is called aloin, which has well-known laxative effects.

Antibacterial - Aloe Vera gel contains various powerful antioxidants, which belong to the family polyphenols. These polyphenols, along with several other compounds in Aloe vera, inhibit the growth of certain bacteria that can cause infections in humans.

Burns -  Aloe Vera accelerates the healing process in burn wounds. Studies have suggested that it is an effective topical treatment for first- and second-degree burns.

Diabetes- Aloe Vera is an effective natural diabetes therapy. It enhances insulin sensitivity and lowers blood sugar level. One study conducted in Thailand found that two tablespoons of aloe vera juice per day caused fall in blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

Dental plaque- When used as a mouth rinse Aloe Vera juice is as effective in reducing dental plaque as the regular mouthwash. The plant also contains good amount of vitamin C, which makes it also effective in bleeding or swelling gums.

Hair fall- Aloe Vera contains proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp. It promotes hair growth and reduces dandruff in the hair. Keratin is the primary protein of hair and Aloe Vera has a chemical structure similar to that of keratin

Anti wrinkle - It contains carotene, which maintains hydration and helps build firm skin. Regular use of Aloe Vera results in a wrinkle-free skin.

Acne - Take some Aloe Vera gel and mix with honey. Aloe Vera’s healing properties together with the anti-oxidants from honey will remove pimples etc to give a clear skin.
Dry Skin problems- make a paste after mixing Aloe Vera with turmeric, honey, milk and a few drops of rose water. Apply it and leave in for about 15-20 minutes to get rid of dry skin problems.
Detoxify: take a glass of Aloe vera juice in the morning. It will detoxify your body by removing the toxins.

Cancer - a recent study has revealed that aloe-emodin, a compound in Aloe Vera leaves, could slow down the spread of breast cancer cells.
