Residency Status

Your residency status matters for the Indian E visa. It is important for the taxation purposes.

The residency status is divided into following categories:
1. Non-Resident(NR)
2. Resident and Ordinarily Resident(ROR)
3. Resident but not ordinarily a resident(RNOR)

Your income tax is calculated based on your residency status.For becoming a resident, you need to stay for 182 days or more in the given financial year.

OR

Staying for 60 days or more in the last 4 financial years gives you a status of resident.If you stayed in India for minimum 2 years during the period of last 10 years then you are a ROR. If you lived in India for 730 days or more in the last 7 financial years, then you are a RNOR.

Health Insurance

The health covers of foreign countries may not work in India. So, if you are coming for a long term stay,its better to get a health cover in India.

Handling Investments
