Frequent ulcers in mouth can be a sign of some error in your body – Dentzz
You must have had certain situations in life when you are
out for a birthday party of your dearest friend or with your boss for a
corporate meet up over a meal. The delicious food is in front of you waiting to
tingle your taste buds leaving your mouth watery. But there’s something at the
back of your mind troubling you because of which you are left with no option
but to say no to the food, in front your boss or your dearest friend. The reddish-white
little thing in your mouth commonly known as ulcer, can trouble you to the bits
and core leaving a continuous burning sensation in your mouth.
Ulcers are the open painful soars in the mouth which are
caused due to many reasons like wounds and cuts in the mouth, stress, improper
food habits etc. and that makes you feel uncomfortable enough that you can’t
eat your food properly and sometimes even can’t talk properly depending upon it’s
severity.
Types of
mouth ulcers:
Minor ulcer: These are smaller in size and so is
their impact. Minor ulcers are less painful and they clear up within 10 days to
2 weeks (without any medication)
Major ulcer: The impact of such ulcers is severe and
can take several weeks to clear up. They are bigger and deeper with no specific
shape and border. Such ulcers can leave scars in your mouth.
Herpetiform ulcer: In this type there is a collection
of many minute ulcers
Causes of
Ulcers:
Dental experts at Dentzz Dental, USA say
that the main reason for getting mouth ulcers is unknown and there are several reasons
which can cause ulcer that are: Stress, indigestion or bad food habits, pointed
edges of uneven protruding tooth/teeth, sharp edges of braces or dentures etc.
They say that if the Ulcers occur once in a blue moon then
there is no big deal about it because it can be treated with normal
medication which be explained later in
this article. But if it occurs repeatedly
than it might be a sign of something that is not right and should be treated as
soon as possible to avoid any further problems.
As defined earlier that an Ulcer is a wound inside the
mouth, if it occurs repeatedly then it might be the reason that some pointed
edge of the protruding tooth must be coming in contact with the inside walls of
your cheeks. Same is the case with braces and dentures. Doctors at Dentzz say that this is the common reason (apart
from other reasons) if you are getting ulcers in your mouth very frequently and
this should be treated as soon as possible because it may leave bruises inside
your mouth.
I will just give a synopsis about the prevention but for a
detailed information on medication you can refer to the blogs of Dentzz.
- - The first and the foremost thing is that you
have to maintain a good oral health by brushing and flossing regularly.
- - Treat the tooth that is brushing against the
other parts of your mouth
- - Avoid spicy and acidic foods, they trigger ulcer.
