Four Masks for Puffy Under Eyes
If you have a sleepless night or if
there’s fluid retention under your eyes, you may get swelling. One easy way to
reduce this puffiness is to make a homemade eye mask. If you need to get rid of
puffy under eyes, try using one of
these masks.
Coffee Mask
The caffeine in coffee acts as a
diuretic, allowing it to reduce fluid build-up under your eyes. This mask
combines coffee with skin-tightening egg whites to create a great puffiness
reducer. To make the mask, follow these steps:
- In a
bowl, combine one egg white with two teaspoons of unused coffee grounds.
- Beat
the mixture until it’s frothy. This should take about one minute.
- Carefully
apply the mixture under your eyes—try not to get any in your eyes.
- Leave
the mixture on for ten minutes. As time goes by, you’ll feel your skin
tightening.
- After
ten minutes, remove the mixture with a dampened towel. Then, immediately
apply moisturizer under your eyes.
Pineapple and Turmeric Mask
Pineapple is full of vitamins that
will rejuvenate your skin and reduce puffiness. Turmeric can also reduce
swelling, and it deeply cleanses your skin. To create this face mask, you
should:
- Combine
two to three teaspoons of pureed pineapple with two teaspoons of turmeric.
- Apply
the mixture under your eyes. Leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes before
gently washing it off with cool water.
Potato Mask
Cold, raw potatoes are good at
reducing the puffiness under your eyes.
The potatoes' starch has anti-inflammatory properties,
allowing the potatoes to reduce swelling and irritation. To make a potato mask,
follow these instructions:
- Wash
and peel a raw potato.
- Grate
the potato as finely as you can. Then, place a handful of grated potato
into a clean cloth. Fold the cloth and place it over your eyelids. Leave
it on for about fifteen minutes.
Egg Whites and Witch Hazel
Egg whites and witch hazel both
have skin-tightening abilities. Combining these ingredients creates a mask
that will greatly reduce your puffiness.
- Take
two eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Place the egg whites in a
bowl.
- Beat
the egg whites with a fork until they are stiff.
- Add three
to four drops of witch hazel to the egg whites, and then stir.
- Use a
clean cloth or a soft brush to apply the mixture to the skin underneath
your eyes.
- After
fifteen minutes, wash off the mixture with warm water. You can
put this mixture on a few times a day.
These four eye masks all use
natural ingredients that are able to reduce swelling and puffiness. The next
time puffiness appears under your eyes, make one of these all-natural eye
masks.
