I am planning to write a little about how graduates can effectively use online courses for mastering their skills. I wanted to work with a few startups and MNCs. And, after much contemplation, I did decide, if it’s a startup, I will run it myself. But is it the wise time to? I decided to upskill myself. Learn a few ways how best-run businesses work. And, in my due course of research, I really liked a website called SAPVarsity that teaches students all about how to get your first cloud application deployed in seconds.

Ok, a little about SAP. Apparently, SAP was in fact founded by five IBM employees in '72 from Mannheim, Germany. In competition to Oracle, it has developed the world’s largest in-memory database. Apart from that, there are almost 300 products that the company holds. And, it has acquired a lot of startups in the past decades. SAP makes a lot of ERP, and now cloud based tools that provide immense capabilities to manage financial assets, production operations, plants, personnel, materials, archived documents and cost accounting. I will be writing a lot about my experiences in the coming series.

A word about SAPVarsity: As new beginners, we can expand our knowledge using such tools. What makes this initiative quite exciting is that we can incorporate the training program into our own curriculum. In a very short time, the courses which been instructor-led, and the option for hands-on experiences would be delivered.

The options for students: SAPvarsity does not offer a degree program, or offer any certification. What the online platform aims to provide is simply obvious - In-depth knowledge about deploying SAP products or solutions, practical real life experiences for challenges. There is no honor in trying to prove someone, who you are using a simple paper the claims you are certified. The simplest reason why a certificate doesn't hold any good is because most of academic courses that are designed globally, are for the very intention of clearing a MCQ test. MCQs are carrots. And, students try applying the same formula in getting "branded". A certification is not going to change the fact that, you are still a fresher. And SAPvarsity in differs in this respect. Their offerings are aimed at providing the end user an experience. The word I must say - practical consulting experiences.

Training a graduate usually takes approximately 6 weeks. This time can be reduced if the student this willing to take the courses directly online. Most of the programs that of those listed in the platform are initial real life experiences of SAP developers those who worked with SAP products. As a matter of fact, most of the instructors are quite qualified and experienced.

SAPVarsity's related courses and offerings in the web platform are designed for working professionals, new beginners and developers. Time is one of the most valuable investment student has spend well attending an online course. I hope you’d enjoy learning, the way I did. Good luck ahead.
