Jock Zonfrillo’s style and passion for food is obvious. The surroundings he creates for his customers to enjoy his cuisine is one of the best food experiences to be found in Adelaide, if not the whole of Australia.

Zonfrillo always planned that the new restaurant relaunch would be a two phase approach but he struggled to see where Blackwood would fit into the culinary market. However, if you take yourself down to the Rundle Street venue, you will experience a space that has been transformed into an inviting and cosy 100 seater restaurant, ready to host and entertain hungry minds.

Your mouth will soon begin to water as you cast your eyes over the menu with the entrees lighting up the page before your eyes. The San José Pancetta & Guanciale, Goats Curd & Hummus looks amazing as does the rest of the offering which you can see here. The mains and desserts are also quite fantastically crafted with the same deep consideration evidently put into the construct of the menu as was to the physical revamp.

If the Fire-Pit Beef Rump with beef fat potatoes and béarnaise sauce isn’t enough to tantalise your taste buds, then get your teeth into the Ngeringa Fire-Pit Lamb with biodynamic vegetables, harissa & couscous. All of these delicious delights are also reasonably priced which makes it as much a family destination as a must stop site for seasoned diners.

The menu changes seasonally at Blackwood and the best indigenous ingredients are always used. Zonfrillo also uses the same techniques here as he does in Orana but as aforementioned, is more approachable as an eatery. The kids menu demonstrates their love of having families come and visit too with great choice and variety for the little ones in your life.

There is also an extensive drinks list which caters for all tastes and pocket sizes. Wine lovers can go one further too, for those who would like something beyond the 40 bottle list, they can order from Restaurant Orana’s 400 bottle list which is curated by their Sommelier.
