Delhi vs Punjab, Indian T20 League, Match Prediction
Delhi takes on Punjab in the second match of the Indian T20 League
2020.
Team Preview
Delhi and Punjab will kick-start their Indian T20 League 2020
campaign in Dubai in Sunday’s encounter. Delhi is the top contender to lift
this year’s title as they are the most balanced side of the tournament. Under
Rickey Ponting, Delhi have picked some key players from the last year’s
auction. They don’t have a single weak point in the batting unit and their
bowling unit is pretty good. In UAE conditions, Delhi have a bunch of players
who can play spin very well and they can counter-attack the oppositions.
Meanwhile, Punjab has dropped their captain Ashwin and they went
for some quality players like Maxwell in the batting unit. KL Rahul will lead
the side and will open with Mayank Agarwal. The middle-order is not their big
issue and the duo Maxwell-Pooran will play sheet anchor. In the bowling unit,
Punjab has a decent unit with players like Mujeeb, Shami, and Chris Jordan.
Punjab are the underdog side and they are a good side on paper. Their
performance will depend on Rahul and Maxwell’s numbers in the tournament.
Pitch Report
Dubai’s international cricket stadium is a decent T20 ground and
being the first day, the surface will help the batsmen. Spinners might take
advantage in the second half as the surface gets slow later the match
progresses.
