Creative Uses For Aluminum Foil
We all have used aluminum foil in the kitchen to keep food fresh, or to line pans for quick clean up—but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Below are a few things you can do with aluminum foil if the need arises.
Homemade Scrubber
Next time you have a pot or pan with stubborn stuck-on food, or have a small patch of rust that you need removed—crumble up a ball of foil, and use it as your scrubber. Rinse when done, and recycle. You can also use the same method to de-crust your grill, or clean your oven
Funnel
We have all been there, we need to transfer content from one bottle to the next, but don’t have a funnel that is the right size. Next time this occurs, make a funnel out of foil. Don’t forget that aluminum is a metal that can react poorly with chemicals, so only use this idea for food or mild cleansers like hand or dish soap.
Reflect Heat
There are several retailers that sell aluminum foils in Canada, both heavy-duty and basic. If you have a radiator in your room, but want to boost its performance, wrap a piece of plywood in a heavy-duty aluminum foil, and slide it behind the radiator to reflect and radiate heat.
Reflect Light
If you have an indoor or outdoor light that you want to amplify, use foil. You can also use foil as a way to highlight artwork. Just shape foil to size, and place behind the light with electrical tape. Photographers sometimes cover matte boards with foil and use to reflect light in dark spots during their photoshoots.
Polish Your Silver
If you are searching for a way to polish your silver without all the work, use aluminum foil. Simply line a baking sheet with foil, and place your silver inside. Then add 3 or 4 tablespoons of baking soda, and fill the pan with boiling water. Let sit, while the ionization process works—and wipe once the water has cooled.

- Line roller pans for easy cleanup
- Keep paint off your doorknob by lining with foil before you begin painting
In A Pinch Pot Holder
Stock up on aluminum foil for sale, and the next time you are out camping and need to pick something hot off the fire, or if you are at home and run out of pot holders—use aluminum foil instead. Crinkle over several layers, and make sure it is large enough to protect your hands.
