The Surgical Mini-Residency is an immersive experience designed to give
dentists familiar with implant dentistry added confidence to expand their
practice. Participants place five Replace Select implants under direct
supervision.
Hands-on Training
For dentists who are seeking to expand their professional skills in
implant dentistry, dental
implant education courses offer a comprehensive educational experience. The
combination of lectures and hands-on training allows clinicians to learn the
fundamentals, understand treatment protocols and acquire practical skill sets
in a way that benefits their practice. The courses utilize ADA CERP-recognized
providers and sound eLearning pedagogies to maximize learning outcomes.
RDI’s Core Series Implant Placement Course includes online modules,
hands-on, and live surgery on models. The course covers surgical principles for
implant placement including atraumatic extraction, bone preservation
techniques, socket classification and suturing. In addition, the course
discusses one and two-stage implant placement and the prosthetic phase of
implant care.
This program provides US-licensed dentists with critical knowledge and
clinical insight into prosthetically driven implant dentistry. It is delivered
by renowned local implantologists with years of real world practice management
experiences to ensure successful implementation of the procedures into your
practice. The course is delivered over a 2-year period.
Lectures
The educational program includes lectures to help the participants
understand the basic principles and protocols of dental implantology. Detailed
explanations of case identification, planning simple predictable procedures,
diagnosis using CBCT scanning and digital impressions, bone grafting techniques
and insertion of implants into a model jaw are offered as part of the
curriculum.
Lectures are given by veteran practitioners who have placed thousands of
implants and held academic positions in implantology. They are knowledgeable,
entertaining and engaging and provide participants with the confidence they
need to implement their new knowledge in their practice.
The institute is known for its no BS, hands on approach to learning.
They offer a variety of courses including an extensive online program, hands on
live patient course and 5 day boot camp. Many of their courses have amazing
reviews and feedback due to the level of training provided. The Q- Implant
Marathon for example is a five day course that allows participants to place 30
implants under faculty supervision.
Case Studies
Dental implant education courses should help clinicians LEARN the
fundamentals of implant dentistry, UNDERSTAND clinical information and techniques
and APPLY these competences to their practice. Unfortunately, many traditional
courses cram too much information into a short period of time or only offer
lectures with didactic information. This causes clinicians to be "loaded
up" on information and frustrated when they return to their practices on
Monday with the ability to implement what they've learned.
Standardized plastic models that mimic patients' real situations are
used worldwide in a variety of interactive implant education exercises to
simulate procedures and allow surgeons to practice their skills. Manufacturers
such as Frasaco and BoneModels produce these types of education models.
Creating an accurate impression, whether by conventional impression
materials or with an intraoral scanner, is important to the success of an
implant restoration. This is especially true if the patient has a full upper
denture. This is a common problem encountered by general dentists, so obtaining
an impression that is both accurate and esthetic can make a significant
difference in a successful outcome.
Faculty
Faculty members at dental
implant courses have been vetted for their knowledge and teaching skills.
They’re also AAID credentialed so you know their teaching is scientifically
based and adheres to the highest educational standards.
The Misch-Resnik Institute has been the gold standard in implant
education since 1984. Their renowned surgical continuum is based on research
and teaches dentists how to successfully add implants to their practice. They
have multiple levels of the program that can be taken at your pace or in a Fast
Track format.
Designed for general dentists and specialists, the Surgical
Mini-Residency aims to give participants added confidence in their implant
surgery. It uses an interactive peer learning approach to reinforce dental
implant theory and techniques with hands-on training. This course is ADA CERP
Recognized and offers 64 continuing education credits. The curriculum covers a
wide range of topics, from implant restorations to single-tooth implant cases.
The program also includes clinical case presentations and lectures by leading
experts in implant dentistry.
