CAT 2019: Registration, Dates, Eligibility, Exam, Syllabus, Admit Card, Result And Cut Off
Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all India level examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to provide admissions for post-graduate programmes in the field of management. This year, the exam will be organized by the IIM, Calcutta on a rotational basis. The examination is generally conducted once in a year.
The application forms and registration process for CAT Exam 2019 were commenced in the first week of August and remain open until the next 45 days. Near about 2 lakh candidates generally, appear in CAT examination every year. CAT is generally organized in two shifts, based upon the number of aspirants.
Eligibility Criteria :
To appear in CAT 2019, candidates must have secured minimum marks of around 50% marks in the Bachelor’s Degree course or equivalent course. For Reserved class candidates such as Scheduled tribe, scheduled caste and disabled persons must have at least 45% marks in the graduation level from any recognized university. Applicants appearing for the final year of their bachelor’s degree and those who have just completed their graduation degree are also eligible to apply for the course.
CAT 2019 Syllabus and Admit card:
The admit card of the examination will be published in the month of exam only, i.e. November 2019. Students will be able to avail the admit cards from the official website of IIM, Calcutta. CAT 2019 syllabus includes Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, and Indian Language Comprehension, Intelligence, and Critical Reasoning, and Global Environment. The question paper will contain each and every question from this prescribed syllabus. The regulatory body does not publish any official syllabus for the exam, but the aspirants can prepare for the exam by practicing the past years’ CAT sample Papers.
CAT 2019 Result and Cutoff :
The result of CAT 2019 will be announced on the official website by Indian Institute of Management in the month of January 2020. Candidates will be able to view their result in the 2nd week of January and the list of shortlisted candidates for the next level will be issued through online mode. The examination comprises of both the objective and subjective type questions which contains a total of 100 questions based on the 10+2 level syllabus. The candidates will be selected on the basis of the cut-off prescribed by the board.
