Canada PR Point Calculator for Quebec-Selected Skilled Workers
To move to Quebec as a skilled worker, foreign nationals need to score at least 50 points (if they are immigrating alone) or at least 59 points (if they are married and immigrating with their partner), based on a range of selection factors. This is similar to the Canada PR point calculator, but the point allocation and criteria are different. The minimum requirement for each parameter is listed below:
Training (Maximum 26 points) – Candidates should at least have a high school diploma, or an equivalent qualification. The area of training is also taken into consideration.
Language Proficiency (Maximum 22 points) – Candidates must score at least Canadian Language Benchmark 5 in an approved English language examination or French competency level 7 in an approved French language examination, in order submit an Expression of Interest for the Quebec PNP.
Partner Skills (Maximum 17 points) – If the applicant’s spouse/partner meets criteria related to language skills, education, age and area of training, the applicant can gain points under this factor.
Age (Maximum 16 points) – Only those between 18 and 42 years old can pursue this pathway.
Job Offer (Maximum 14 points) – This is not a mandatory requirement, but having a valid job offer form a Quebec employer allows applicants to claim additional points.
Work Experience (Maximum 8 points) – Within the past five years, the candidate should have gained at least six months of experience in an occupation listed as National Occupational Classification Skill Type 0 or Skill level A, B or C. There is no Canada Occupation in Demand List which determines the exact occupations that are eligible for immigration to Quebec.
Connection to Quebec (Maximum 8 points) – If the applicant has previously resided in Quebec for at least two weeks or has a family member living in the province, they can claim additional points.
Accompanying Children (Maximum 8 points) – If the applicant has unmarried dependent children under 22 years of age who are accompanying them to Quebec, points can be claimed depending on the number of accompanying children.
Settlement Funds (Maximum 1 point) – Candidates must have sufficient funds to support themselves and accompanying dependents for at least three months after entering Quebec.
Those who submit an Expression of Interest, score sufficient points under this version of the Canada PR point calculator and meet other criteria, receive an invitation to apply for permanent selection. Subsequently, they must pass the values test and receive a Quebec Selection Certificate in order to apply for permanent residence to the federal government.
