1: Determine that how the living room will be used:

2: Types of area rugs: - According to the traffic in the living room, you should decide the material.

A)  Woolen area rugs:- Woolen area rug and carpets are suitable for living area. These are available in several color combinations. These are providing cozy touch and warmth to your room. Woolen carpets and rugs are ideal which have child and pets in the home. Because it is easily washable and also have some feature which hides the stain and hair. This is less expensive and suitable for high traffic. These are hand-knotted area rug and very high durable.

B)    Silk area rug: - As we know that pure silk area rug is very exclusive and also superior in all rugs. Silk rugs are little expensive as compared to the handmade woolen carpets. Silk carpet has very soft and cozy touch. You can use it for floor area rug as well as for wall hanging. It contains vibrant colors and adds the luxurious and charm look to any living area. These also hand washable rug. But if you vacuum it then maybe the fabric will damage. So I suggest washing it professionally.

    3: Decide the size of area rug:-

   Before buying any carpet, you should measure the length and width of your living room. Determine where you want to place it and the proper measurements for that area.

     4: Choose color combinations for living room:-

    The color combination is the main thing when you buying a carpet. Having a theme in mind is important when picking out new handmade carpet and rug so that you can achieve your desired aesthetic. You can also choose the color according to furniture and curtains. If you want warm tones then you can use yellow and orange color carpet with green wall. This is ideal for traditional rooms. For the modern room, you can use natural tones like gray, beige, and ivory, brown with the stripe pattern area rug.  

     5: Placement of carpet in living rooms:-  

   For the living area, always select the large area rug which is slightly smaller than the area covered by the furniture. You can also use round carpet for the living room. It will look amazing when you place your round area rug in the center of the living room and put the furniture on round area border.
