Internet marketing is a form of marketing that uses the Internet and the World Wide Web as a medium. It is used to send marketing information and acquire customers. Examples of Internet marketing include primarily various forms of advertising, including search engine results pages, banners, multimedia ads, social network ads, interstitials, Internet advertising, advertising networks and e-mail marketing.
Initially, Internet advertising took the form of so-called mailing, i.e. sending advertisements via e-mail. In 1993, a revolution occurred - the Mosaic Internet browser was created, which could display graphics and frames. From then on, advertisers could reach a larger number of potential recipients, and the advertisement itself could take a graphic form. The second half of the 1990s was a time of very dynamic development of the Internet and related technologies, including advertising. One of the most popular forms of Internet advertising is banners. Apart from them, according to Gemius research, the most well-known form of Internet advertising is advertising mailing. Internet advertisements or Internet auctions can also be considered advertising.
