Image I live in Northumberland, Home of numerous castles and Hadrians wall.

Once patrolled by soldiers from all corners of the Roman Empire, Hadrian's Wall is one of our best-known and loved attractions.

The best thing about the Roman wall is that, remarkably, stretches of it are still intact and you can get a real sense of what life must have been like for the Centurions and guards who once garrisoned Rome's northernmost frontiers.

Hadrian's Wall was Roman Britain's biggest building project, originally constructed in just eight years starting in AD 122 and begun on the order of Emperor Hadrian

Now, in 2011 it is still there.

Would you like a business as solid as that, steady and rock solid.  There are many out there, you just have to look and do your due diligance.

In my opinion, the first thing to look for is to make sure the business can afford their compensation plan, or, like so many out there, is it just pie in the sky. Do your due diligance.

Secondly, can the product they are offering be bought cheaper on the high street, or can you actually save your customers some money.  Do your due dilligance.

Is the product they are offering something your customer needs and uses, or is it something that is extra to the budget. Do your due dilligance.

Is the Company that is providing the product well know and well established or new to the market. If new to the market, does it have financial backing, does it look  secure. Do your due dilligance.

If something seems to good to be true then in my experience it probably is. Do your due dilligance.

You will notice "do your due dilligance"appears frequently in this article. Without taking this very important step, you are more likely to lose your money and get burned. Due dilligance is an essential part of business building, without it you are more likely to fail. Remember, Greed leads to blindness. Do not go blind into any business venture. Good luck.

Excellent article. Due Diligence is the key to beginning anything and the failure to take this step is the downfall of so many people it's almost mind boggling. In particular, people who start in network marketing and listen to the hype that some guru is spewing forth. They sign up, pay the money the "guru" was really after and they sit back and wait for their checks to come rolling in. If they had done their due diligence they would have known that the checks don't just fall out of trees an

Most people would save themselves a lot of heartache if they took heed to those two words 'Due Diligence'.

And I am a bit of a history buff so I had heard of Hadrian's Wall. I'm sure that there are a lot who have not.

Something that we sometimes forget is to do the due diligence. That could be why some marketers put the pressure on to act quickly. Acting quickly sometimes means there is no time for doing the due diligence.
