I prefer direct deposits to a prepaid VISAs like the ones Western Union sells. Annual fees are less expensive than bank accounts and there is no threats of overdrafts. I use U.S. Postal Money orders in lieu of checks since 2000.

A prepaid VISA and U.S. Postal Money Orders takes care of ALL my personal financial needs.
