Ban Popups!
Don't know about anyone else, but when I'm surfing, the amount of popups
coming up when you click to leave a site is driving me nuts! I hate them......
Some sites have up to four popups, telling me not to leave until I've really
thought about it, chat to their operator in live chat, and various other
permutations along the same theme.
Have just discovered that my Firefox Popup Blocker was off, so maybe
now things will improve. I certainly hope so; I was getting RSI with all
the extra clicks these things caused.
Does anyone know a good popup blocking program, just in case the
Firefox one doesn't do the job? Thanks.........

You're right, and if I've clicked to leave a site, I detest
being held up by exit popups!

I also hate pop-ups. Most of us are adults and we have the ability to look for more information. If I leave a site and am bombarded with pop-ups and "are you really sure you want to leave"'s I just take it as an insult to my intelligence and surly will not return even if I added it as a bookmark for a future look!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your comments - it seems popups aren't popular with most of us.
The ones I hate the most are the exit popups - I want to leave the page, not keep closing more and more ads. Better start reporting them, as Philippe says.....

I totally agree with you, pops up always makes me irritating. I always avoid them even pops up lead capture form. How to sign up before go through the contents? Some innovation tactics just chasing away their value prospect. Before implementing anything like that one should put themselves as in a visitors shoe & test. People use to say " Don't put things on others that you don't like put on you"

Hi snakesmum, I'm not sure if you're talking about getting pop ups when surfing on Traffic Exchanges. If it is the case, do report the sites that caused the pop ups to the TE owners, and if they don't do anything about it, leave the place.
The number of pop ups has increased in the past months in the offers from some IM gurus for miracle software that doesn't work but you have to go through 7 or more exit pages to get out. I don't know why they do that, I guess it works, they get more sales. Th

Jaz4u - You're right, the "cancel" button IS a real joke on many popups! :-(
SoNetWrk - I ignore them too, and prefer not to deal with sites and companies which use them.

POP Up is the WAY of LIFE on the Internet ... Individuals can VOID some of them by adjusting one's personal computer to "allow pop ups" .... just set to "ask everyting" there after click the "red X" at the top of the 'pop up' ... the "cancel button is a joke on some 'pop ups'

First it is better to surf sites that minimize the amount of pop-ups; then report the ones that does.
I love networking so much, I created an International Surf Team ~ JazJets ~ I encourage them to become Team Leaders of their own Surf Team and share the better surf sites that helps conversions. The Team is one of the services I offer here in Apsense, Team Members get to promote thier primary website via a link to their team photo or graphic ~ Participation is FREE!
