Dr. Mulekar is regarded as a pioneer in non-cultured melanocyte transplantation, the latest development in the surgical management of vitiligo. In 2003 he was invited to join the National Centre for Vitiligo in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He continues to work at this center.
