I was born in Holland in 1948, migrated to Australia when eleven years old with mum, dad, 2 older and one younger brother. Settled in Melbourne, where I got a diploma in Medical Laboratory Science by studying at night school and working in hospital laboratories in the day time. After graduating, worked in Bangladesh from 1975 to 1977 with Australian Volunteers Abroad, then moved back to Australia to work for private pathology firms, first in Brisbane, then Lismore and Albury. I retired in Januar
