I was born and grew up in Athens, Greece. I graduated from High School in Athens and I was planning to go to the Polytechnic of Athens. Soon enough I understood that it would be very difficult to enter in the Polytechnic and I decided to follow my parents and immigrate to America. I had a hope that in America I would be able to attend even a 2-year technical school.

We came to New York in 1964. I could not speak the language and I had no formal training.
