Although I was born under a South African sun I am Scottish and have spent almost all my life in Scotland, growing up in Edinburgh. After leaving school and college, I joined the family pottery business eventually moving it up into Perthshire where I developed it into a major tourist attraction.
After 20 years was forced out by other family members who thought they knew better, they didn't, the business eventually closing after a further 12 years.
