My desire is to write
a piece of poetry or prose
that might stick in your head

My purpose is not to get you
to agree with anything
I might have said
I write for empathy and entertainment
I write to edify and educate
I write to tickle and tantalize
I write to exhort and energize
However, never do I write
to tear down or criticize

I write to the masses
not simply a select few
for I know the power of my voice
if you choose to read
what I have written
