This might show my mathamatical shortfalls but...

... I was just looking at some of the results from business centre votes. I'm not into mathamatics (in any form) thats what a calculator is for ;o) but i had a thought about the business centre votes. If 2 Business centres have the same vote (using the example below) in this case.... 7.1 (from 18 votes) and 7.1 (from 13 votes) isn't it more likely the one with 13 votes would be above the one with 18 votes, since it got to the same rating in less time (less votes) Example.... Collette Avg Rating:7.1(18 Votes) Isaac Lowe Avg Rating:7.1(13 Votes) In this example shouldn't Isaac be above Collette in Rankings ?

Adding Wings To Our Unique Life Journey!

I see both your perspectives Lynn and Eric.
Numbers and stats has never been my forte, nor passion.
Logically speaking, I think you're both correct and likely both views are taken into consideration.
I'm willing to just trust the Apsense crew on this one. I'm certain they're doing their utmost to have everything fair and equitable.
Meantime, visit my blog on my personal rating system for ABC's using in the Business Exchange. At least in that area, we can make a difference and have some impact.

Hi...

I'm so glad this was explained. I gave the discussion a thumbs up!

'cause I've puzzled over mathematics a time or two myself!

It really wouldn't matter what the exact votes were. As the one with the most votes has held the score longer. That is why they are listed ahead of the one with less votes. Lynn

I guess it could also be that the one with the most votes had a lot of smaller votes either to begin with (or recently) where the one with the less votes got a higher initial vote and held it....

But as i said, i'm hopeless at maths...

It is ranked by who has held the rating with the most votes..Example someone could have a 8.0 with only five votes...and someone else has held onto an 8 with thirty votes. The one who has held onto the rating with 30 votes has showed more staying power, so they should be listed ahead of someone who has just achieved it. Lynn
