Name and Shame

It seems that nothing is going to stop spammers multi posting in groups here. That being said, we should at least have a "Name & Shame" thread where we can post users who repeatedly spam which would also give those users a chance to "attempt" to defend themselves. At the very least it gives a place for people to make informed decisions about who NOT to do business with! Perhaps this thread could continue on for this purpose. Opinions ?

Hi Everyone
I too have absolutely HAD IT! I just recieved 52 "discussion threads" in my apsense express and of all of them only 3 were actual articles/discussions! The rest were ALL repeat ads!

Since I have about 5 groups of my own along with several I help Admin, I have to read each and every post to see if it is one that I am admining. Would it be possible to have a the Group name posted in the title or description in Apsense express?

This sure would save me alot of time and may also gi

As said before, the group management (admins) simply shall delete these spams. With a bitter note to the spammer.

Easy.

Hmmm....we must accept to live with spam, there's no other way I think. We can only try to reduce it.

I was thinking the same thing Jean,

it is very difficult to make more than one post in 5 minutes if you are posting real content. Maybe we should have the 5 minute rule for all members. I dont believe that paid members are allowed to poast multiple duplicate posts either!

San, At first I agreed with you about the 5 minute posting idea for free members, but
when I thought about it, I changed my mind.

If someone is actually writing content, and not duplicating a post by copy and paste,
it may take a few minutes to write the post. If this is so, then the 5 minutes delay
before posting again isn't too bad at all.

Wonder if paid members send duplicate content or spam?.............

I'm not too sure about this 'sheep dip' approach of only allowing free members to post every five minutes. Isn't that punishing everyone instead of just the spammers. What about those free members who wish to contribute by commenting on other's posts, or making their own quality posts?
No, I think that it is wrong to put something in place that affects people who aren't guilty of anything.

I think in this case it was the spammer himself that there was an issue with. I tend to be nice enough to direct them to the TOS when I see it. This one had more than one rebuke and had ignored all efforts to help educate him. That's different from your run of the mill don't know anyone spammer.

We also have those who actively look for discussions/blogs with a lot of tops to spam, or they join groups with the intention of posting spam. This is what upsets people.

Hi Lynn,

This is very good news and lets hope it resolves the problem. Duplicate posting hurts us all. I am delighted to hear that the owners share the view that "public naming" is not a positive move forward and that each Group Admin or Support can deal with it. The TOS are quite clear.

Delighted to hear that McCarthy does not rule at ApSense after all.

Earning Online Since 1999

I have spoke with Wincer. And we have implemented a new feature, free members will only be able to post every 5 minutes. This will help with those spammers who post multiple times every few minutes. There is no need to list these people in a public format. If you have a problem with a spammer, you could report them to the admin of the group, or to APSense support and let them handle the situation.

Hi Eric,

Since ApSense first started, some of the original spammers have learnt their lesson and started to post content instead. It was a question of learning that it was not acceptable to other ApSense members. And Posting duplicate content in the "right places" is a different kind of spamming than the posting of an ad in the wrong place. The first affects the site and all of us, even if the posts are in the correct places. A question of learning. Many people do not know.

We have had eno

Thanks Wincer,

It must be a pain for you guys trying to work out the best way to deal with it - something that pleases all members - I thought you had it with your old system but it didn't suit the "majority".

Looking forward to seeing your new updates.

Hi, Eric

We have got some complains about spamming issue already and we have processed his duplicated content too.
Now we are working on new Group System. I am sorry that i cannot tell you more detail about it at this time. The new group system will improve our business social network. MORE content, LESS spamming, and more features.

Thank you for let us know your idea.

Hi Eric,

I believe that the best way is for the admin guys on each blog o just delete them off. Any other way is actually giving them a bit more qudos. Certainly letting them try to defend and indefensible position is only allowing them to gain money and honor points which will only serve to benefit them.

Just delete their blog postings and not give them recognition.
