Honor Points and Spotlight Score

Hello again all. I've been surfing around (using the find-function in upper right corner) subjects about Honor Points (found 2) and Spotlight Score (2 there also). It seem to me that nobody really knows how these are calculated and for what they are granted. If I have understood the Honor Points thing correctly, You get them for things You write... Am I correct? Then they are used to.... Well to what??? The Spotlight Score are gained when You... eh? And used to get Your face shown in the Networking area. Maybe. Please someone with more detailed information, even bits of information, do clear these things out for me. It is annoying seeing Your scores move without knowing why. Thank You Ben

Hi Lynn,

Just be clear and blunt about it, personally I don't care about the spotlight or direct sponser list. Really I don't believe anyone speaking in this thread does care all that much, people can judge me by my actions if they feel so inclined to try and measure me some way.

I also don't believe anyone has been saying you have to spam to grow your network, just that some members could very well end up doing so.

Lasty thank you guys for being here to explain changes, I am glad

Ben,

The now 277 hits, just represent how many times the thread has been looked at. If you were to refresh the page the hits go up. So this is just a refection of the members who are following this discussion. So if you had about 10 members reading every new comment, you would achieve this hit level. These are not unique hits.

I have been keeping up with the posts here. And what I have noticed is that everyone is mainly focused on one list. The top direct sponser list. It is a list of the top 20 members who have worked very hard. APSense is recognizing those members. This achievement wasn't made in a day, a week or even a month. This shows consistent work on their part. That is why it isn't done by the week.

Yes, it looks like the spotlight board was replaced by this. But, they already had plans to remove the spotl

Hmmm....

The debate here was one of the best I've seen in APSense so far. And I dare to say that all a very big procentuage of the comments have been so called quality writing.

However, one thing struck me as pretty interesting. As I write this, the blog has been viewed 273 times. The comments count to 25, many of them from the same people. Is this a sign of APSense being "overadvertised", in other words ar people joining too easily?

What do we do with a gazillions of members if they do

hmmm...well a quick thought now...

Would a system for the "weeks" top recruiter's not make more sense?

Lord, you guys I don't even know why I am suggesting this, I guess this comment from you Bj is part of the reason (as are other things members have said here and elsewhere) :

"The more members we have the bigger the potential market for our service there is.
Any incentive that will help to increase the membership even if its just to strive to get into the top recruiters list can on

What you are reading is not defeatism but an ability to see beneath the surface and from another point of view other than my own personal one. What you see from the inside looking out is much different that what someone sees from the outside looking in. I have said that there's no intent to show favoritism but for the new person looking in, that is the appearance.

As for the spotlight scores, no I didn't complain when I was there but nor did I complain when I was not there. The way to get

Hi Cheryl,

Sorry but what I am reading from you is defeatism.
Something I never expected to associate with you.

Yes it is possible for new members to knock ALL the current top scorers off the board AND without reverting to spam, as you suggest.

Is it probable? That is up to the members to decide if they want to go for it or not. You are creating hell about Lynn being there why not a word about Val (sorry Val nothing personal here), almost as many points and equally hard to top?

Ok well this is the only question I have for the moment:

Is encouraging members to get a bunch of refferals truly in the best interest of all of APSense? Sorry I'm just a little confused, I thought quality was the goal here...won't members see this as a reason to spam APSense all over the net? Or is there some kind of preventitive measure to be introduced?

Also, LOL..Bj, I don't believe there are any inner circles either, at least not that I am aware of. Being a member for several month

I like to see a group grow and take hold of things before I really offer it to others... It's my policy to share "Only The Best" with my friends, so it'll be a while before I ever reach the Spotlight! No bother, I'm enjoying Apsense so much that the "numbers" don't matter! :)

I agree with you Cheryl. I have seen many different people hold the spotlight score, and I really thought that was an incentive for people here.
But it seems that they are wanting more people to go out and promote Apsense. I don't have time for it. I have a biz to run. SO, don't look for me on top for a while or period...unless a miracle happens! Lol!

Just plain honesty

Now do you all see why I asked - "What does it matter?"

No matter how much the Apsense administration bend over backwards in order to be fair, with an arbitrary and really rather silly system of 'good dog' strokes - they are never going to succeed.

I have a list of some 76,000 members of my own private club and it would be quite easy for me to get them all to sign up for Apsense and totally mess the figures up. Others have lists of friends in other communities who could also create mayhem

BJ look at it from the point of view of someone who has just started. I'm not saying Lynn has not worked hard promoting APSense, But how many newbies to APSense have a chance at catching her? She has basically been put in a permanent spotlight position here. Is it possible for someone to pass her up yes it is. Is it probable is a whole different situation.

And the appearance of favoritism and conflict of interest would be there If it were you or anyone else who has an official connection w

Hi Cheryl,

ok let me ask you this. Is it fair that the business center page now also shows random business centers?

Which is fair?

For myself and the other top 10 Business center score holders to lose the only place where we had a sort of permanent exposure?
(sort of in that others could always get better scores and knock the top position holders off the top)

Or

To give more member Business centers exposure by displaying random BC's thus encouraging more members to improve

Hey Guys,
Reading through these posts I do have to admit that I do not have a clue how the point are earned. But then as The old Coot (love the name) said what does it matter...we are here to network and get to know and help each other.
If the points are important then guys you better get to work. I have to disagree with the comment that, that there is no way to get 500 new members....hey the internet is a very large place and everyone does not have a membership here.
Have a good Christmas

Ben,

Thank you. There are still changes being made. So, we should be patient and see how the new group updates unfold.

I certainly do appreciate the work You do, Lynn. The work You ALL do.

However, removing one thing in favour for another is usually not a good idea. Is ther no chance keeping both list?

I have worked very hard at promoting APSense, just like everyone else on that list. I also volunteer my time here to help with APSense. I don't receive any payment for helping here. So, this has nothing to do with favortism, I worked very hard and earned this spot. This is no different than other sites having a top referral board. Besides saying thank you for their hard work, it also gives incentive to other members. I didn't get in on the initial opening of APSense. So this shows that all membe

I don't think you realize how unfair that is to the newer people. No offense Lynn but you have 436 members which means you are going to be sitting there permanently. There's now way a new person has any reasonable chance at exposure when a certain group is going to be sitting there from now until Judgment day.

With the spotlight score everyone had the chance to be listed according to the hard work they are putting in now. having an APSense administrator sitting in the top spot reeks of favor

We are working on some group changes, so you will notice a few changes. Yes, the spotlight board was replaced with a the top direct sponser list. We also made the top business center list random. It will now show twenty random business centers that have a score of 6.0 or better. We still have our popular member and hot business center pages that show 50 random members. There is also the current guess who game. There are many ways to get yourself seen here at APSense. The best is writing quality

My toughts when I noticed this change went in the same direction.

There is no way that I am going to get some 500 people signing up as new members for APSense at this stage anymore, unless I go buying a downline. And we all know that a payed downline is no good...

So there went yet another way of exposure down the drainer.
