I am Curious, What is the difference between a public an private group?

Yeah, you are the only member, Plus you created the group (You are the administrator).

Well I noticed the subjects within my group show up on apsense express and on my website widget. Maybe I am only seeing these details because I am the only member?

They only see the description, which they would need to see, to decide if the wanted to join your group. Lynn

I was under the assumption that private would be private and contents would not be displayed unless people joined. I really wanted to set up information and such at my leisure ( in private) before inviting the public, but I guess this is not possible.

You as the administrator accept or deny membership to the group. If you wanted to target individuals then you can review their profile etc before accepting them. This lets you control who you want in that group. Yes your group does show in profiles etc. and your discussion topics will also show up on the discussion list but the only members of the group will be those you personally accept.

They can see the group description. But, they cannot become a member until the administrator accepts them. Members can see your group listing in your profile. But, it is showed with a key, which means it is private. They can join, they do not need an invititation from the administrator, but you will need to accept them. Enjoy the day, Lynn
