Why is a newspaper ten times more interesting when somebody across the table is reading it?

LOL...this is a very interesting question! One that I've not answered before. I believe a newspaper is more interesting when someone else is reading it because it's human nature to "want what someone else has." It always seems to be more appealing when someone else has it. Have you heard: "The grass is greener on the other side?" LOL Hope this satisfies your question.
