I think that, with a few exceptions, much of human history has been told through the eyes of men. The ability to see what women see, what affects them, what is important to them, is so valuable. Women also often are able to gain access to places that men are forbidden in certain cultures, and that is able to shed light on issues like motherhood, poverty, illness, and more.
