I definitely agree, Cindy. I would much rather do business with a local business or a peer in the online world than with a large multi-national conglomerate any day of the week regardless of the product or service. Instead of going to home depot for basic household tools and home decore, I'd rather get it at a local thrift shop here in the LA area. To get the best of both worlds (i.e. celebrity/major and local), I'll occasionally visit the Now and Than Second Hand store, which recently opened

I would say the restaurant choice would depend on what everyone wants to eat. Restaurants that serve steak may not serve pasta dishes... Then it would depend on which restaurant has what's considered 'the best' of whatever the group wants to eat. Best value for money, great service & the atmosphere in a restaurant are also important factors. Eating locally, especially in restaurants that serve locally grown food is an extra bonus, in my opinion.

For me it is a combination between the food, the general atmosphere and client service. My friends and me, we usually go to our favourite place, but if I have a business meeting, I will choose another place. So I guess it also depends on the occasion.

I like to meet at a place that has great food. Recommending a place with great food says a lot about one's ability to make choices. Besides, you wouldn't want to meet at a place with bad food anyway. I also tend to favor places that aren't so noisy that you can't be heard using normal conversation tones.

whenever I have a business meeting, I like meeting at Syrup Desserts because the atmosphere is just wonderful, the Parisian decor is just wonderful and their rootbeer floats are to die for and the overall environment is a high class, wonderful experience.

@Wagar....let me ask you in another way...... When you go out to eat with or family or your friends... what is it that makes you say.... "let's all meet at The Diner" or whatever the name of your favorite place to eat is.....
