They are both about the same unfortunately, with GEO Targeted traffic doing a little better than the latter. GEO Targeting and a good text ad can go a LONG way.

The ONLY metric that indicates effective advertising is Return On Investment, so if your investment is only time it should be obvious that free advertising has a better chance of meeting that goal.

The content is the trigger that elucidates the clicks. It is generally a basic that paid adverts attracts targeted prospects than the free ads. In order words serious prospects are showing preference to paid adverts as the free ones as it sounds is free for all.

Paid advertising will probably be better and reach more targeted visitors. However that is not always the case and sometimes free advertising can be just as good.

Based on my own belief, i have come to understand that content is KING, when your content is well written and address to TARGETED MARKET, in tends to bring in more sale and traffic to your business.

Most especially; make sure that what you have to offer to the public is of value, with this, you don't really need marketing or advertising that much; the sales could be carried on with-less-work-done.

All advertising effectiveness is based on two elements. Content and Audience.
If the advertiser KNOWS the content sought and the Persona of their audience the effectiveness is show.
Paid or Free.
Our clients allocate a good percentage of operating expense to Effective advertising.
interesting they realized focusing on existing customers yields a higher ROI

There's always a better way!

From my experience, FREE ads are a lot less in visitor quantity but if the title is a good one, they draw more interest. Paid ads are a waste of money for the most part. You might get more visitors but hardly any buyers. Targeted or not, chances are they are just surfing either for cash/credits, or just clicking anything that shows up. I've had more signups from free ads than paid.
