I think any craft based on recycling of waste materials is most apt option. For example waste paper can very easily be turned into containers for dry eatables. My mother used to make excellent flour containers from waste paper 4 decades back. These containers were light-weight, eco friendly, very cost-effective, and more over kept flour free of moisture even in the rainy season. They can also be decorated with beautiful designs externally.

It really does depend on your interests. As for me I like to make candles and soaps most the time. I've made jewelry before and that can be fun as well.

A very good craft, especially for women, but not only, is to make accessories, beads, pendants, bracelets, earrings. Hobby shops sell the parts, you make them, you can wear them, or you can sell them to friends, etc.
