This a subject that I missed out on but from my personal study and from talking to a few bigger online marketers shorter copy converts better but it has the most returns and the fewer people who buy more than 2 times.
Longer copy you can sell the $900+ products and they generally buy upsells more often...they stick around for the long haul.
Now if you want to get money as quick as possible then the short copy is the ticket but I have a saying: People who read are people who spend!
Sondra, I like giving out samples of my products when I am at my booth at the local market in my town. Most people love the fact of getting something because it lets them know that you want to share the products you market by giving away free samples.
Although lots of affiliate programs give you samples of long copy for promotion, shorter copy seems to get better results for me. People are more likely looking for the link to click to get to view the website. So, in my opinion you need a good title to draw them in first, then the website needs to be engaging enough for the reader to take action.
