I have found these tools useful:
1. Trackmyhashtag - It is a twitter tracking tool which can fetch Twitter datasets of any hashtag, keyword or mention for any time period since the beginning of twitter in 2006.
2. Followersanalysis - It is a twitter analytics tool which can fetch twitter profile's tweet and followers & following data.
Both tools provide a deep analytical report to make an effective analysis or research.
