When I say to people who spam me in private messages "Please no unsolicited links", many apologize, but some react as if I was the only one who didn't like it. I guess most people who don't like spam don't dare say it, for fear of destroying the relationship. They don't realize that relationship isn't worth their time in the first place.
"Did you know that some early figures calculated that Spam generates 33bn KWt-hours of energy every year, enough to power 2.4 million homes, producing 17 million tons of CO2." Wow!!!! It would be great to figure out a way to harness that energy Leslie. Lol!!!!

As for the rest of your comment, it would be way off topic to answer those points here.

Thanks for that Philippe, The habitual spammers will do what they do no matter what but this thread could be used for those who want to do things right but haven't the foggiest idea how to go about it. They are the ones who read these posts as well as people like us who combat this daily.
And with that said I think it's time to quote.....

Its unfortunate that your friend fell for this scam. It would have been much more fun to spend that money on a vacation, and go where ever this person was, to meet her.
Even if she wasn't right for him, he could have had a great time visiting a place he's never been too. On top of that, I'm sure while on vacation he would have met someone more suitable.
I met my wife while on vacation. We've been married for 16 years now.
@Mike G, you pretend that spam works. I believe you are right, but only for short term results, and little money, not as a way to brand yourself.
Those who use spam and make BIG money are not only spammers but also scammers. They join scams early, they get a lot of people to join, and when the scam falls apart, they do it over again with another scam. They don't lose a second of sleep over it.
Another thing: Aweber and GetResponse are not spam tools. People who subscribe to a list can't expect
Don, spam works better than everything we do as marketers. Most of the time they work harder or as hard as we do. Keeping things short if it didn't work they wouldn't do it. The auto responders that we use (Aweber, Get Response) is just a legal means of the same thing and we do it because it works. Although, we have some value to add.

@ Warren Did it happen? Did he even meet this girl? I have no doubt that some situations are real but most of what I see here mainly lately have been nothing more than scams and I highly doubt that most are even female... Wow $30,000 is a lot of cash!!!!
Many people don't know what spam exactly is. They just think what they are doing is legit and normal. Those people who are aware of spam will do it as they think it as a shortcut for success...
Both are very true but I still wonder just how many just simply don't know the difference.. I crack up every time I see some young girl looking for true love posting a comment saying that if you email her she will give you pics and you can start a relationship... Do people really fall for that?
Well one spam is unwanted emails, people do it thinking that they will fish someone or conversion out of the depths, but what really happens is that you discredit you business and become banned and blacklisted then you lose the chance to maybe take an awesome or great idea to the next level it gets pushed a side and never seen for what it could have been!
Spammers are generally lazy, cunning people who think they have found a short cut to making money online. Either way, their methods fail in the long run.
btw...I hate when people send an ad to you via your inbox on Apsense aswell...it's the exact same principle.
