@Joe I think you did a nice job and now you have him between a rock and a hard place. It's time to negotiate what it will cost to finish the job or cut the cord.
@Thoma - Been my approach from the start.... but read below....
@Steven.... this is what it's become... waaaay more than the hour I originally thought, so I hear you and I like your last 7 words... I have a feeling though, that having mentioned the idea that the commitment so far has been more than expected, it sounds like he may agree to some sort of monthly payment.
Depends how much work needs to go into it. When I was learning sales I was told 'never do favours for friends and family as you'll always have to do them and they will grow'. Nothing if it takes me less than an hour, otherwise agree a rate or fee before you start. If you're in business, be a businessman.
Well Joe I totally agree with ya, I had the same experience with a friend and did him a favor and put a site together and he hounded the living crap out of me and I spent weekend after weekend and did not ask a cent, well without exaggeration it was probably about 4 full weekends and still not good enough and with the limited experience I have in that department I struggled big time and to him it was well why can't this go here and why can't it go there, and eventually I said do me a favor lets
Sure, will pray over this one, but thanks for the input, Warren... I actually believe that people who haven't spent any time building a website doesn't realize that it takes time.... here's what I did so far... http mybizzniz dot com / informationdepot - please tell me what you think..
@Joe I guess that comes down to your definition of a friend and if that particular friendship is one-sided. If he is on thin ice, go ahead and express your feelings and see where it goes, you have nothing to lose.
I felt the same way, then found it's easier to re-build it from scratch and he's made NO contribution... taken many more hours than I expected... and he's just sent me $25.... and I just wonder why it feels like I'm being ripped off... :-(

That is of course up to you and your friend, but if he were my friend there would be no charge.
