I'm with Terry, though if it costs anything to join, I'm not interested. I see no reason to pay someone to allow me to work (and generate profit for them). If it's free, I want information - not useless marketing BS with half-promises, vague pointers and incomplete details but real information that details what is required and what is on offer.
I am constantly astounded by the number of times people try to sell me the same program that's been running for over ten years (e.g. Blogging to the Ban
Cost. If I have to pay money up front first, then I want all the details. If they tell me I have to reach a quota or sign up so many people a month, I will usually not join.
Also, track record from legitimate participants. After being taken advantage of so many times, I am not an easy sale.

I usually like to try the product/program myself first. Before doing that, I search for the reviews of the product for legitimacy of the product, the benefits of the program and the tall earning claims made during the promotion. If I am convinced, then the next criteria is how much it cost? If it is too expensive, then it will be difficult to promote, irrespctive of how good program it is. Many people on the internet are looking for FREE programs. So getting targeted leads for expensive programs
Darlene, I am with you on that one...the forums are a good way to find things more related to the truth because if someone is just mad about something others will drown them out.
I am with Sondra for checking out the forum to get the bad news quicker. Usually saves a lot of time. If there isn't any and the offer interests me I then try to determine what the business plan is and how feasible it might be. I don't usually get past this part. It is usually 'ol hat with 'ol promises just dressed up to look current.
Preferably I would like to interact with the person on a friendly basis and get a feel on their mindset and usually I can gauge whether they're bullshitters or not....and if I feel comfortable I will jump in and join them, and before I pass on or promote anything to anyone, I will assure ya 100% they pay and it works, that I give ya my word....
